Did you see anything in the film that connected with your art practice, or what you would like your art practice to be? - In the film Wayne White mentioned how he wants to try everything in response to someone telling him pick one thing and do it well. Not really with the work I've made for art tutorials 1 but when I'm just making art at home I like to try everything; I can never really say this one specific style or meduim is "my thing" because I like to just make things in general and I'm always trying out different mediums, styles, and crafts.
Was there anything in the film that you disagreed with in thinking about an art practice? - I really enjoyed the whole film and I thought that Wayne White was an interesting guy. I think everyone has their own unique way in approaching their art practice and he really just likes to enjoy himself and have fun with it; he's not suppr serious about everything and he doesn't really care what other people think. As far as his art goes I think it's a good approach to have and it works for him. As far as art practice I don't think anything in the film stood out that I would disagree with.
What surprised you about this film? I don't know if I would say anything really surprised me other than maybe his work a bit. Once you learned about who Wayne White was his work wasn't too surprising. It was cool to watch though, because I had watched a Basquiat documentary the night before and it was cool to compare them. They are both pretty laid back artists but their personalities were very different as well as their stories.
